TRAINING
A good physician treats the disease. A great physician treats the patient who has the disease.
Soon after my graduation in 2014,I started 1 year house job training program from Civil hospital Hyd which includes clinical training and research work. House job is the important year of the clinical experience under supervision before the start of the own practice as a physician. It is understood that clinical experience of new medical graduates are poor and they are expected to learn clinical skills by one year house job experience. In Pakistan, according to PMDC (Pakistan Medical and Dental Council), it is necessary to do six months training in medicine wards and six months training in surgery wards.
MEDICINE WARDS
I started my training from medicine wards (Pediatrics and General medicine), under the supervision of senior doctors. Here I learned all the basic procedures required for bed ridden patients including, how to pass catheter, canula and nasogastric tubes, how to withdraw a blood sample, Treatment plans for patients of diarrhea, meningitis, viral and bacterial infections and the most important thing which I learned there was to how to deal with emergency cases of poison ingestion, diarrhea, raised blood pressure etc.
In pediatric wards, senior doctors wants us to focus on the most common health problems in children of Pakistan like pneumonia, meningitis, marasmus, kwashiorkor and specially educate their mothers about basic hygiene, breast feeding, vaccinations and prevention from common health problems. Here, I learned a very important procedure which is necessary to perform for the diagnosis of meningitis, "lumbar puncture". Overall, it was an amazing experience and I learned alot from my seniors.

SURGERY WARDS
I spent the rest of my six months in surgery wards (General surgery and eye).
Hernia is very common in Pakistan. It has many types like inguinal, umblical, femoral, epigastric etc. In surgery wards, our senior doctors want us to focus on the surgical procedure (herniotomy) of inguinal and umblical hernias because these two are the most common types found in Paksitan. Appendicitis is also a very common disesase found in children, removal of appendix is called appendectomy. I learned this procedure and assist my senior doctors during operation. Pre operative care and post operative care are the most important steps before and after surgical procedure, so I focused on these steps, because if a doctor make a mistake in pre and post operative followups, it would be very harmful for the patient, as well as for the professional reputation of the doctor.
In eye ward, I got training in treating the most common diseases of eye including Glaucoma, cataract, retinitis, conjuctivitis, dry eye syndrome and diabetic retinopathy. Glaucoma and cataract are common diseases in elderly and they need surgical treatments.
Anytime a patient is required to — or elects to — have surgery, there are always risks involved. Some surgeries, however, carry with them a higher risk due to the difficulty of the procedure, the importance of the organ and the part of the body being operated on.
Thanks to the skilled medical professionals who perform these surgeries, along with advanced medical technologies, mortality rates and complications have been significantly reduced.

RESEARCH WORK
Along with clinical practice, I also did some research work during my house job. I collected data from past record of hypertension patients to analyze that which drug is more effective in hypertensive patients. I also distributed questionnaire to pharmacist of hyderabad to analyse the antibiotic misuse in children less than 6 years.
